Canford welcomes Barty House to the Group
Canford Healthcare are proud to announce completion of the purchase of Barty House Nursing Home in Bearstead near Maidstone.
The handover took place at the relatives and residents Christmas party on Sunday 2nd December, and despite the miserable weather there was a great turnout of both staff and relatives.
Our plans are to refurbish the existing period building to a high standard and progress with a significant extension to the latest specification to make a total of 60 beds, all single and mostly ensuite, with excellent internal and external amenity areas.
Canford is an emerging company aiming to grow to 10 homes over the next 2 years. This gives it many advantages over a traditional corporate. The relatively small size of the group enables it to maintain a personal approach to the management, led by Director and co-founder Barry Lambert, who has 20 years of Care Home experience.

It also has it’s own in-house training department which is fully accredited with City & Guilds to carry out its own NVQ training and Registered Managers awards.
