Canford delighted with feedback from family
The family of a new resident at Tunbridge Wells Care Centre is delighted with how things are going since her mother moved to the care home in September. Here is what her daughter wrote about the home:
"Mum arrived at The Care Centre on Sep 1st having spent the last 2 months in hospital. She had been nursed in a side ward because of an infection and had been seriously ill. She had lost weight and had become generally much more dependent on all nursing care. She lost her mobility and was even unable to stand. So she arrived looking like a frightened bird with her feathers ruffled. Her communication was poor and she was unable to eat or drink much at all.
Over the last few weeks she has improved in leaps and bounds with the care and attention she has received at The Centre. The skills of the nursing staff have enabled her to be rehydrated and maintain excellent skin care. She has always been given time and explanations about what is happening in her day to day care. This means she has never been frightened and not shown any form of aggression or frustration which used to happen a lot.
I have been very impressed with the way all the staff, from the kitchen and laundry, admin and management all work as a team and all have got to know Mum and are able to tell me how she has been, what made her laugh, how she made them laugh and what she ate for dinner ! So it’s the people who count not just the beautiful surroundings and décor!
The activities provided by the coordinator’s have been very stimulating and she has loved all the movies, games and animals, real and stuffed! And also hugely enjoyed the old time singing and was energetically shaking bells in time to the music!Mum looks like she is enjoying life again with all the support and having her hair coiffured again last week for the first time in weeks has made her look more like Mum again!"
Thank you
